The Swiss high-tech luxury sportswear brand X-Bionic and the successful Swiss ski racer Marco Odermatt are joining forces from the coming ski season. The young alpine ski star has signed on as a brand ambassador for the next three years, strengthening the X-Bionic athlete team, which already includes Olympic and world champion skier Wendy Holdener.

2020/21 was a sensational season for 23-year-old ski racer Marco Odermatt from the canton of Nidwalden. He finished second in the hunt for the big crystal globe and helped the SwissSki Team win the Nations Cup for the second time in a row. As the official supplier of the Swiss Alpine Ski Team, X-Bionic has already provided Marco Odermatt with functional sportswear over the last few years.

For an athlete in ski racing, it’s always about measuring yourself against the best by hundredths of a second both in competition and in training, and both developing individually and optimizing not only your performance but also the whole package of materials, supervision, and sporting and private life.

That's how I would sum up my state of mind the day after the World Cup Final in Lenzerheide. Second place in the overall World Cup standings and in the individual discipline rankings for giant slalom and Super-G, my first two victories in giant slalom, another victory in Super-G, a total of nine podium places: a great season is about to come to an end. Over the coming weeks, I have the Swiss Championships and then ski tests to look forward to. But after the training sessions in St. Moritz, I'll need a holiday to mentally and physically process this season.
