With 3rd place in today’s Giant Slalom on the Chuenisbärgli in Adelboden, another dream has come true. As a child, I had always dreamed of starting in Adelboden, and now I’ve actually made it onto the podium - and this with the red leader bib in the Giant Slalom ranking!
No other Swiss skier has achieved this in Adelboden since the fantastic win by Marc Berthod ahead of Daniel Albrecht in 2008. Justin and Loïc in 5th and 6th place rounded off a great team result. Unfortunately, after a fantastic time in the 1st run, Semyel failed to make it in the 2nd run, which prevented what could have been an even better team result. At the same time, this 3rd place is my 4th podium position in the 5th Giant Slalom of the season, which makes me incredibly proud.
Tomorrow there is another Giant Slalom scheduled in Adelboden. There, too, I will start with the red bib as leader in the Giant Slalom and third in the overall World Cup ranking. After today’s performance, I can’t wait to get back out on the Chuenisbärgli tomorrow.
